种类

The Chinese word 种类 (zhǒnglèi) means "category", "type", or "kind". It is composed of two characters: 种 (zhǒng), which means "seed", "species", or "kind", and 类 (lèi), which means "class", "category", or "type". The word 种类 is used to refer to a group of things that share similar characteristics or belong to the same category. For example, we can say 动物种类 (dòngwù zhǒnglèi) to refer to different types of animals, or 植物种类 (zhíwù zhǒnglèi) to refer to different types of plants. The word 种类 can also be used in a more abstract sense to refer to different types of things, such as 思想种类 (sīxiǎng zhǒnglèi) to refer to different types of thoughts or ideas, or 行为种类 (xíngwéi zhǒnglèi) to refer to different types of behaviors.
