นิรุกติศาสตร์และส่วนประกอบ

The Chinese word 仓库 (cāngkù) for "warehouse" is composed of two characters: 仓 (cāng) and 库 (kù). The character 仓 originally meant "granary" or "storehouse" and was used in ancient China to refer to a place where grain was stored. The character 库, on the other hand, originally meant "armory" or "arsenal" and was used to refer to a place where weapons and other military supplies were stored. Over time, the meanings of these two characters expanded and they came to be used more generally to refer to any type of storage facility. The combination of these two characters, 仓库, thus came to mean "warehouse" or "storehouse".
