นิรุกติศาสตร์และส่วนประกอบ

The Chinese word 节日 (jié rì) for "festival" or "holiday" is composed of two characters: 节 (jié) and 日 (rì). The character 节 originally meant "bamboo joint" and later came to be used in a more general sense to refer to a "joint" or "segment". In the context of time, it refers to a specific period or occasion. The character 日 simply means "sun" or "day". When these two characters are combined, they form the word 节日, which refers to a special day or period of time that is set aside for celebration or observance. The word 节日 has been used in Chinese for centuries to refer to a wide variety of festivals and holidays, including traditional Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival (春节), the Dragon Boat Festival (端午节), and the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节), as well as modern holidays such as National Day (国庆节) and Labor Day (劳动节). Each of these festivals and holidays has its own unique history and traditions, and they play an important role in Chinese culture and society.
