นิรุกติศาสตร์และส่วนประกอบ

The Chinese word 强盗 (qiángdào) for "robber" or "bandit" is composed of two characters: 强 (qiáng) and 盗 (dào). The character 强 originally meant "strong" or "powerful", and was often used to describe military strength or physical force. Over time, it also came to be used in a more figurative sense, to refer to someone who is forceful or domineering. The character 盗, on the other hand, originally meant "to steal" or "to rob", and was often used to describe someone who takes something from another person without permission. When combined, the two characters 强盗 create a compound word that refers to someone who uses force or violence to take something from another person, hence the meaning "robber" or "bandit".
