The Chinese word 技术 (jìshù) is composed of two characters: 技 (jì) and 术 (shù). Over time, the two characters came to be used together to refer to any type of specialized knowledge or skill, and the word 技术 (jìshù) was born. Today, 技术 (jìshù) is a common word in Chinese, and is used in a wide variety of contexts to refer to any type of technology or technical knowledge.
