The Chinese word 灵活 (línghuó) is composed of two characters: 灵 (líng) and 活 (huó). The character 灵 originally meant "soul" or "spirit," but it has also come to mean "clever" or "quick-witted." The character 活 originally meant "alive" or "active," but it has also come to mean "flexible" or "adaptable." When these two characters are combined, they create the word 灵活, which means "flexible" or "adaptable." This word can be used to describe a person who is able to change their mind or behavior easily, or to describe a situation that is constantly changing. For example, you could say 这个人很灵活 (zhè ge rén hěn línghuó) to describe someone who is very adaptable, or you could say 这个情况很灵活 (zhège qíngkuàng hěn línghuó) to describe a situation that is constantly changing.
