The Chinese word 下周 (xià zhōu) is a compound word consisting of two characters: 下 (xià) and 周 (zhōu). The character 下 (xià) means "down, below, next" and is often used to indicate a lower position or level. The character 周 (zhōu) means "week, period, cycle" and refers to a seven-day period of time. When combined, 下周 (xià zhōu) literally means "the week below" or "the next week". It is used to refer to the week that comes after the current week. For example, if today is Monday, 下周 (xià zhōu) would refer to the week starting from next Monday.
