The Chinese word 一带 (yīdài) is composed of two characters: 一 (yī), meaning "one", and 带 (dài), meaning "belt" or "zone". Together, they form the term "One Belt", which refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt, a major infrastructure project initiated by China in 2013. The project aims to connect China with other countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa through a network of trade routes, railways, and other infrastructure developments. The term 一带 is often used in conjunction with another Chinese word, 一路 (yīlù), meaning "one road", to refer to the entire Belt and Road Initiative, which includes both the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
